Acacia
This canvas began life as a painting, was repainted and used in an installation, painted over, ripped during alterations and in transit.
I took this canvas and started to paint a figure over it, I had a lot of ideas with how to handle that rip, but decided to just keep going and I'd deal with it at the end. Once I had finished the figure, the rip seemed to belong and I ended up doing nothing with it.
The visual representation of the way we drag ourselves through life with our check engine light on, turn up the radio, and just keep going.
Acacia. 20"x16". Acrylic on Canvas. 2023
